When our clients embarked on the journey of transforming what was supposed to be a spec home into their dream custom home, the kitchen became the focal point of their vision. As the heart of the home, it was designed to reflect their love for hosting and entertaining, setting the tone for every other space. This approach not only ensured a cohesive design but also created a warm and inviting atmosphere that resonates throughout the house.

From the very beginning, the kitchen was prioritized as the central hub for connection and entertaining. By reworking the architectural plans, we were able to create an open-concept layout, seamlessly integrating the kitchen, dining and living areas—the perfect space for hosting and gatherings. Whether it’s an intimate family dinner or a lively party with friends, this kitchen is a place where memories are made, laughter is shared, and everyone feels at home.

The design of the kitchen influenced the rest of the home by establishing a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality. Warm wood tones were chosen to evoke a sense of nature, bringing the outdoors in and creating a calming environment. Black and brass accents add a layer of sophistication, while transitional design elements ensure the space feels timeless and full of character. These materials and finishes were echoed throughout the home, creating a sense of continuity and balance. 

The kitchen’s design is a testament to the clients’ personalities. Playful details such as asymmetrical shelves back with shiplap on either side of the hood fan and the mix of brass and matte black hardware foster charm and character, while timeless elements like rift-cut white oak, custom Roman shades, and reed glass create a sophisticated aesthetic. This balance of playfulness and elegance is a thread that runs through the entire home, uniting each room with a shared sense of intentionality.

By beginning with the kitchen and allowing its design to guide the rest of the home, we created a living space that is both beautiful and deeply personal.
